This post is for Mark.
Dear Mark,
I don’t know you and you don’t know me. So it caught me off guard that a total stranger would collude with Ivy and John to get me the only picture frames I have ever coveted. These are the frames that were discontinued and out of stock everywhere in the world except Cardiff, Wales. This is my letter of thanks.
Thank you for purchasing then carrying those incredibly heavy frames from the store, then onto a train, all the way to London.
Thank you that you took them on a date and then waited an additional several hours before Ivy and John could meet you.
Thank you for stepping up to the challenge to bring some happiness to someone you had never met.
Thank you so much for this random act of kindness.
In these frames I have housed drawings that are very near and dear to me. They are of ‘Monkey and Dee’ drawn by my brother. These frames hold much more than just images. They hold the culmination of 35 years.
I want you to know when I received them this year, it was an incredible surprise. I had never expected to receive an Odby frame. Then to hear the story of how it arrived blew me away. And for picture frames of all things!
So, my heartfelt thanks to you Mark, and to John and Ivy, for thinking of me and going through great lengths to buy, pack and wrap them! I am reminded of this kindness every time I see these pictures.
