It’s been 6 years since we saw Shianne and Scotty last. They moved to the Great Down Under and were married there. As a surprise for them, on their visit back, we prepared our own rendition of Dîner en Blanc.
Today is a random post. I’m going through some pictures we took when we visited this new coffee spot that is inspired by a train platform. Caveat: This is NOT a review. I don’t know anything about coffee.
I had the pleasure of being Ivy’s guest to this once-a-year, highly demanded event. To summarize what it is: it’s a pop-up picnic event where everyone has to wear white, bring their own table with a white table cloth, chairs, plates, cutlery, wine glasses, food, and trash bag. The waiting list is in the thousands! Other Dîner en Blanc’s occur around the world. They’re currently on 5 different continents.
Ivy said, “hey, let’s do canning!” and I’m thinking “ehhh” because I don’t really like jam and Ivy didn’t want to can asparagus. Then she gave me a glass of carbonated water with canned cherries in a red wine syrup, and I’m thinking, “how soon?”. Continue reading
